A versatile producer, director and editor in the area of documentary and value added material, John has amassed a catalog of more than 100 titles for a wide range of artists.
He began as an independent production/post production company dedicated to the creation of supplemental content and documentaries for the home entertainment industry. He is responsible for research & development of documentaries, field production, conducting interviews, developing story ideas, writing scripts and directing. He also performs and/or supervises all of the post-production processes including, picture editorial, color correction, digital film restoration, sound mixing, and graphics creation.
A producer and director for more than 20 years, his most recent projects include directing the life story of country legend Alan Jackson in the soon to be released, Alan Jackson: Small Town Southern Man, The Doors: Live at the Isle of Wight Festival, Frank Zappa: The Roxie Movie and his 18 year run working with The Simpsons among others.
John was the Senior Producer at Pioneer Entertainment where he produced more than 60 world-wide releases. His primary focus was music titles for a range of diverse artists including The Who, The Kinks, Queen, The Psychedelic Furs, Billy Squire, Bad Finger, Miles Davis, Blondie, George Benson, and numerous titles for The Metropolitan Opera.
John gained much of his early experience while earning a degree in film production at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles and while working on-set as a production assistant for Richard Donner and Joel Silver. He has held positions as a grip, gaffer, cinematographer and coordinating producer for independent and major motion picture companies.
John has also conducted interviews with artists, directors, producers, writers, technicians, and industry innovators including Carrie Underwood, Roger Daltry, Lenny Kravitz, Tom Petty, Lee Ann Womack, Michael Moore, Jim Davis, Dave Davies, Allison Krauss, Richard Donner, James L. Brooks, Matt Groening, Joe Mantegna, Mark Hamill, Jeff Goldblum, Ricky Gervais, Elvis Costello, David Byrne, Jennifer Lawrence, Kevin Costner, Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger of The Doors.
